History And Mission
Since 1928, Our Lady of Lourdes School has been providing a quality Catholic education to elementary students. The school, located in the Field Club/Lourdes area of mid city Omaha, offers limited enrollment in grades Pre-Kindergarten through eighth.
Our Lady of Lourdes School aims to create a Christian atmosphere of care and concern around our students that fosters the development of their spiritual, moral, and social being, as well as their intellectual and physical selves. Faculty present religion as a separate subject for study, as well as integrating religious truths and values into all areas of the curriculum.

Physical educational
Our Lady of Lourdes provides enrichment opportunities for each course of study. The guest artist program, for example, brings performances of theatre and music to the school.
Faculty at all grade levels are certified teachers. Throughout the school, small class sizes ensure high teacher-pupil ratios. Specially trained instructors provide classes in library, physical education, fine arts, and computer training.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Thanks to the school's central location, students can easily take advantage of the wide range of enrichment opportunities available in Omaha and surrounding areas. Frequent field trips are used to reinforce material being studied and provide students with hands-on learning opportunities.
Our Lady of Lourdes unique park-like setting has provided an exceptional source of enjoyment for all.
The school organizes a number of events throughout the school year:
Book Fairs
Catholic Schools Week

PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT
Our Lady of Lourdes welcomes and encourages parental participation in every aspect of each student’s education. Each year, before school begins, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten teachers invite their incoming students to an open house held in the classroom. This gives each child the opportunity to become familiar with his/her classroom.
Our Open House and Book Fair, scheduled at the beginning of the school year, provides parents with the opportunity to tour the school and individual classrooms, become acquainted with the entire faculty, and get first-hand information about specific policies and procedures.
Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled after the first grading period; teachers also are available for parent conferences on an individual basis throughout the year.
Our Lady of Lourdes various programs and events are augmented tremendously by the enthusiasm, talent, and experience of parents. Our Parent Volunteer Program provides many opportunities for service in a variety of areas. Parents are strongly urged to join our Home & School Association, a vital support organization for the school, and to attend the monthly School Board meetings.
